On July 6, 2010, my son Jackson and I will embark on an epic journey. We will set out to complete a hike in each of the 50 states in 50 consecutive days. 50 hikes, 50 states, 50 days. All the hikes are posted here with the dates and times, and we'll upload a video from each hike as we complete them. Any input or guidance you may have on our selected hikes would be greatly appreciated. If we're hiking near you, we would love to have you come out and join us. These hikes are designed to be great for everyone, so grab a friend who hasn't been before; bring kids, parents, strangers (everybody!). In the last couple months I've been fortunate to stand on a majestic glacier on Mt. Rainier, sleep in a firelit cave on the side of Mt. San Jacinto (while somewhat lost), and spend the night on a quiet beach on Catalina Island with a full moon rising over the pacific ocean. I've been having fun, and it's time to amp it up for Jackson's summer vacation. He'll turn twelve on day 43 in Arizona.
